well, I thought to try to get the off topic automotive discussion out of the other thread, we should use this thread anything related to discussion about cars/bikes/trucks? and the appreciation of these machines

I've always been into Porsche, but also have been getting into Skylines recently as well.

I'd love to sit inside one of those someday for a cruise (doesn't have to be me driving), but so far I've had no luck.

I drive my parents' Astra around, so I want to buy a proper car sometime this year. I'll have to start off small though, like a 10-year old Camry or Commodore or something.

unless you have a real need for a large car (like a commodore of falcon) with petrol the way it is either don't buy one at all or get an LPG conversion, sure you loose boot space and a a small bit of power (its not that noticable) the savings are well worth it.

People generally don't buy sports/high performance cars for their fuel mileage. When fuel prices were rising Holden V8 sales didn't decline all that much. I guess you pay a premium for performance.

I like any car that's well engineered and go's around a track quick Currently infatuated with the 2008 R35 GTR... can't wait to see one at the motorshow.

power and petrol don't work together, though the good thing with my mini is keep it off boost and it sips the black stuff at 5.0L/100km, then if you plant the pedal it gets about 10-25.0l/100km, I must admit I do like the R35 GTR but if "I ever had such money" id continue driving to the Porsche dealership in Glen Osmond and order a GT3 don't know why but I just have a fascination with it.
