Good promo for Underbelly, given that it is (or was) banned in Victoria. Route 72 has improved since I was there last.Norman wrote:Maybe if it was a South Australian show, then yes.

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
A notice in this week's Messenger advises that the tram will be closed for Easter from 1st service Friday until last service Monday, with
substitute buses leaving City West & Glenelg Zone D. Closure is for track maintenance (inserting new rail?). While it is good they have
possession for that work, I don't know if they spared any thought for tourists who might be here for Easter & wanting a trip to the
Bay by tram.

I believe a few new crossovers and rails will be installed. Hopefully this will make the ride smoother.

If it has to be done, it has to be done. Better on a low capacity day. I mean this is Adelaide ... we shut for EasterXaragmata wrote:A notice in this week's Messenger advises that the tram will be closed for Easter from 1st service Friday until last service Monday, with

Busses in Perth are like the melbourne tram. They are covered in Underbelly adverts for Nine.Norman wrote:Maybe if it was a South Australian show, then yes.
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
That is correct, new 50kg/m rail (heavier then most of the heavy rail network!) will be inserted between Brighton Road and Morphett Road stops. In addition, a brand new crossover will be inserted at Beckman Street stop where there currently isn't one. This will fill in a large gap that doesn't have a cross over between Forrestville (which is decommissioned) and Morphett Road.Norman wrote:I believe a few new crossovers and rails will be installed. Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I have noticed near my stop at Glandore, a couple of new electric poles have gone up adjacent the existing ones and there is a huge bundle of rails lying on the side of the tracks, which I think would be used for the crossover at Beckman St stop?

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I noticed what looked like a new square GI pole at Marion Road last night next to a stobie pole. Are they planning to close the tramwayShuz wrote:I have noticed near my stop at Glandore, a couple of new electric poles have gone up adjacent the existing ones and there is a huge bundle of rails lying on the side of the tracks, which I think would be used for the crossover at Beckman St stop?
while the South Rd overpass is built, or will they build it in stages with single track working?

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Thinking outside the square last night when in town, i was wondering why the trams can't be used until 3:00am on friday and saturday nigths. Thus allowing more people to move between the city and the bay. Also putting an ease of taxi usage between the two sections therefore making it easier for all people.
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
There already is a night bus (N262) that ats as a connector, but I think a night tram would be nice. However, I think in most systems, buses are preferred at night as they can veer off their standard route to offer more of a to-your-door service.
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
on Friday and Saturday nights the whole rail network should be operating at least 1 train an hour from 12:00 until 4:00am on all lines (except Grange and Tonsely)
