It was sad to see this thread languishing towards the bottom of the list, so I thought it needed a bit of a shot to the arm.

Anyone off to the Motor Show this year? I'm looking forward to seeing the FG Falcon range in person, although it will have to do a hell of a job to tear me away from my visions of a Phantom Black Calais-V with the optional HSVi 20 inch wheels.

I'm also immeasurably frustrated that some of the best car shows of the year (All-American, All Ford, All Chrysler) were low on both entrants and visitors due to that ridiculous heatwave of ours, and some stupid location choices. Sigh.

I am off to the Motorshow this year, I am looking forward to witness first hand the latest high-technology Japanese beast of this century, the new GT-R.

Also interested to see the HSV Monaro replacement based on the VE Commodore platform.

Also interested to see Audi's new model line up. Just sold off a 97' 1.8T Quattro A4 few weeks ago.

Not sure if Lexus is on display but would love to see the IS-F which is a sports V8 version of the IS250.

Not looking forward to see the new Falcon though, the concept version was much better, but the production model were just a mere facelit off the current BA Falcon, despite some changes here and there.

Are we certain to have the GT-R on display, though? I certainly hope so; that car looks just brilliant, and seems to have done very well in tests against the competition.

I'm also one of those odd people that wants to sit in everything, from the dullest of the econo-boxes all the way up to the most exclusive of supercars. I don't understand some of the almost stand-offish attitude taken by many of the more expensive brands, too - that 'don't you dare look at this Jaguar, and I am personally affronted that you have asked me to view the interior'. If one is willing to attend with vehicles, then embrace the concept of attendance to the fullest and be nice.

Howie, I think Wigley Reserve is an excellent venue for such car events. I may just head down that day.

I'd agree Omicron, I mean you put a car on show so expect a few enthusiasts to ask you about the technical specs and check out the interior... they need to get over themselves.

I did see tour dates of the GT-R, and nissan reckon it'll be on display at the Adelaide Motor Show... if it doesn't show up you'll have many many disappointed people.. including the whole SA Chapter of Skylines Australia club

Oh in other news, i think on channel 7 tonight they're talking about the new track .... and the word on the street from the guys who rallied down at port adelaide is that it'll be a go'er! I can't wait.

P.s. All Japan Day at Wigley Reserve will be a free entry event So why not go down to the bay and check out some chrome at the same time!

I think it's 15 bucks entry to the Motor Show. Probably going to be worth it this year I think... i skipped the last two.

As for All Japan Day, I hope it will live for its expectation and I think it will. When Autosalon started, it was so great. Then we were splashed with ugly showcars. I quickly got my interest in Small Car Sunday, and get to witness one of the toughest import machines in SA, then it turned crap as well considering that out of hell some Holden and Ford owners chuck their rides in there and messed up the whole theme.

What AJD is promoting in their website sounds very promising, I truly hope it will. I am looking forward to this.

3 manufacturers are going to steal the show based on my prediction. They are the Holden with their Coupe 60 (although being criticised for being built in Japan yeah yeah sucked in you Aussie Holden Die-Hard Fan), and Toyota, with their TRD Hilux and FT-HS Concept. Last but not least, the almighty re-born of the godzilla, the new R35 GT-R, Porsche 911 beater.

Toyota has not have any concept cars on display on Australian Motorshow soil for around 2 years now, so the display of the FT-HS is really going to be a big hit.

All this, only if they are present on display at the Adelaide Motorshow. Good Luck guys, remember to recharge your camera batteries and snap as much as you can.
