Yeah.... all it needs is people.

I actually went there on a Saturday night and it was dead as anything.....and this was at 10pm.

It sure is the surprising side of town..... it surprised me how dead it was!

Now I know why there are so many Mawson Lakes advertisements on TV, because they desperately need people!

Funny then how all the developments sell out so fast!

Maybe it's actually because there's plenty of people there, but they're not the type who like to scream and shout and cause trouble, and roam around the streets at 10pm at night.

Suits me perfectly!

Yes.....and even now alot are established, people still wanna sell them..... Mawson Lakes has pages of properties for sale on real estate websites.. wonder why so many?? Amazing how they need so much advertisements to make people move there.

Its called market hype mate, and once it ends, mawson lakes will become another west lakes/golden grove. Where are the things that make it so great? beaches....none, great views.....none? Things to do....bugger all. What it has (a few cafes, a pub, PRIMOS!!) you can go to heaps of different areas.

Mawson lakes is good cos its got alot of whats in vogue atm, once it all is 30 years outta date like west lakes, what will people think of it then?

Im not trying to say its crap place to live, because it seems fine. However I dont think its super fantastic and anything to brag about. You can live in plympton near anzac/marion and have just as much to do. There were literally no people out on a saturday night, the whole place shuts at 12. I think it is suited to a more relaxed retirement style living, not really for the MAJORITY of the young.

Maybe ill see you there when I decide to retire!

CSC to hire 120 new IT staff in South Australia
Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) Australia intends to double the 120 IT services staff it currently has working in South Australia over the next three to five years because of strong demand from the defence and booming natural resources sectors.
In South Australia, CSC has been involved with defence projects since the 1970s, including JORN (Jindalee Over-the Horizon Radar Network), the Submarine Project, Nulka Active Missile Defence, Global Hawk and the Anzac Ship.

CSC’s major commercial clients in South Australia include BHP Billiton and OneSteel. Other clients include Allianz, AMP, BlueScope Steel, Coles, Myer, and Rio Tinto.

The increased staffing announcement comes on the back of the official opening of CSC’s AUD$12 million purpose-built Software Solutions Centre in Mawson Lakes.

Nick Wilkinson, President and CEO of CSC in Australia said:

“CSC’s investment in Mawson Lakes reflects our longstanding commitment to the local economy. We have a 30-year history in South Australia and aim to be an IT employer of choice in the region.”

Mr Wilkinson said the move to the new facility at Mawson Lakes would better position the company to continue delivering results for its diverse client base. “We have built technology and flexibility into the building to allow us to cater for the differing security demands of our clients.”

The opening of the new centre in Mawson Lakes is part of CSC’s national facilities campaign and follows the opening of similar centres at Macquarie Park in Sydney, Coniston Technology Park in the Illawarra and Subiaco in Perth. CSC also plans to open a new campus in Docklands, Melbourne in 2009.

I don't understand what you were expecting from Mawson Lakes. It is a suburb after all, and not a new CBD or lifestyle precinct.

Personally, I don't find living in the Northern Suburbs appealing at all...

If anyone who frequents the area could give us a bit of a photo-spam update, that'd be appreciated. I'm particularly interested in anything over five levels.

If you're saying that, you haven't been to Mawson Lakes recently!
