Yeah, it was quite a climb too. But the ride back down was awesome

It saddens me a little that we're still developing more low density sprawl out on the margins. Instead of addressing the housing problem more constructively.

Yes, but when those apartments aren't also an option? More high and medium density housing gives people choice. Freeing up low density housing for those who choose it. Right now everything's full = no choices.

A lot of people are buying on the fringes because they can't afford anywhere else. Hell a lot of people are moving to Peterborough because they can't afford a house down here.

What I was saying is that there should be a reasonable amount of choice between high, medium and low density housing without having to continuously open up new tracts of land on the fringes. We need to keep up the urban infill (which is happening but slowly) as well as encourage medium and high density 'villages' that are well serviced by high frequency PT. But no it's cheaper to grade a paddock and install some plumbing.
