Yet to be decided. Howie, how much did you spend on print out the ACC submission sheets in total?

Love that rail terminology - Will409 you have'nt lost me yet - been a fervent rail fan since 1958!!. That is why I can state so much about SAR rail history and the rundown of SA railways. I could almost believe a conspiracy theory concerning our rail situation. Great in it's heyday, but a shell of it's former self now!.Take Mt Gambier for instance - once stabled 9 steam locos. No railway there at all now! :(

S-A farewell tour - Squirts, Rockets and Limiteds

#423 Post by Will409 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 8:50 pm

(Cross posted on Railpage and Railsa)

As we all know, timetables on the Gawler Central line is about to be changed with the result that all Dry Creek Squirts, Salisbury Rockets and some Jumbo worked Limited services (ie, the 2:15pm to Gawler) will be eliminated and replaced with who knows what. Thursday, the 24th of April will be the final curtain call for these services.

Who would be interested in meeting up and make a final day, UNOFFICIAL tour of these services using just a usual multitrip? I have managed to form a itinery that takes in all of three of these services in one afternoon which includes two Jumbo runs. Once these runs are done, you chance to get photos tommorrow will have vanished so we may as well get them now while it is still possible.

We'd meet up at the buffer stop on platform 9 in time for the squirt with some time for photos.

I'm interested, & it is a well prepared itinerary that would suit me, but I suspect Thursday 24th will be the last day, with Friday 25th
being Anzac Day / holiday timetable (http://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/routes/anzac_day.html).

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
