Thanks Urban. Here's a random question - why are there two parking ticket machines?

Ooh ohh ... don't tell me. I used to work for UPark... something like those machines can only have buttons for a certain number of parks so if you have more than X parks you need another machine? Memory fuzzy... I could be wrong.AtD wrote:Thanks Urban. Here's a random question - why are there two parking ticket machines?

But they're "Pay-and-Display" ticket machines, different mode of operation. No?monotonehell wrote:Ooh ohh ... don't tell me. Very impressive angle in those pics mate. Sure looks to have some height.wilkiebarkid wrote:Some pics from a different perspective today.
No.3 is my little grumble at how close new townhouses are to an expanding CBD. Wait for all the problems in 10 years or so when someone wants to build a decent sized highrise next to these tinny (that's meant to be tinny!) townhouses!

Those townhouses are housing trust or similar and were built around 10 years ago when there was very little building work in the city and virtually no residential development. I saw inside them when they were almost completed and they are beautiful spaces with good natural light and ventilation. Better than the much more expensive Halifax St townhouses which followed and miles ahead of the adjacent red brick monstrosity which preceded it.
A mixture of small and large scale buildings makes for a more interesting city than purely large or purely small. Gaps between large buildings reduces the amount of wind at ground level and allows better solar access for both buildings and streets.

The developers have lodged plans with the ACC to make certain ammendments to the design and function of this building.
They have lodged plans which if approved would alter the building in the following manner:
*To include balconies on the southern façade at level 7-11.
*To make the top floor a single penthouse.

Won't the balconies face the multi-level car park? Is that a good idea?*To include balconies on the southern façade at level 7-11.

levels 7-11 would probably overlook the car parkHo Really wrote:Won't the balconies face the multi-level car park? Is that a good idea?*To include balconies on the southern façade at level 7-11.

There is one thing that i must admit. When you drive past the project, it actually looks quite big in real life. Nothing great though as it does look very plain and boring.

Hey all! I'm sort of back in action for today, the computer's being a bitch to me lately.
Loving the glass, loving the blue, loving the height. The pictures are greatly appreciated. I've been around town a few times lately and this is certainly shaping up as a significant building for the southern apex of the skyline.

Not a great view though, and depending on how you count the floors level 7 seems borderline. I would have thought a glass curtain wall would be better.Mants wrote:levels 7-11 would probably overlook the car parkHo Really wrote:Won't the balconies face the multi-level car park? I walked past the site yesterday and now I understand the picture better. It was taken from the back of the Coglin Pay and Display parking lot. Those two machines service around 50 car parks, so there's two machines to halve a potential queue.AtD wrote:Thanks Urban. Here's a random question - why are there two parking ticket machines?
They are here *points*
