Also not forgetting the 24 level, 90m office tower on King Willy that's proposed, that'll add to the Santos blocking effect!

Just freehand mate! Spewing that the city had so much smog otherwise the pic would have been great. Also picture trail really shrinks images, when you see the original file, the detail is unreal!aceman wrote:That first shot Pikey is awesome, I took some shots from Scotch College on the Easter weekend but I dont have 10x optical zoom! Did you take it freehanded or was the camera on a tripod?

Mants wrote:yea, that first picture is a stunner!
skyline looks mighty dense from that angle, especially that the hyatt fills the gap between SGIC and CC1
To a lesser extent the new office/carpark building on Gilles Street has also made an impact on the skyline.

Algernon wrote:I'm talking about the one proposed to be built closest to the southern side of CC1. It has long been mooted as 17 levels, but knowing how dynamic this project has been it's probably been revised again. Will wrote:Are you talking about City Central Tower 4 or City Central Tower 7?Algernon wrote:When the 17 storey (subject to change yadayada) tower south of this one goes up, you'll be hard pressed to see the Santos building from the tram station in Vic Square. That's cool.
I see on Emporis you updated it to reflect a 20 storey building, what's your source for that? If it's the same building i'm talking about, then it'll definitely block out the view of Santos from the tram station. Tops.
The building you are referring to is City Central Tower 7. When I was reading the documents sent to me for City Central Tower 2 it became apparent that City Central Tower 7 is going to be the last tower in the project. At this stage construction will probabaly start in 2009 or 2010. Having said that at the moment everything about this building is just speculation, nothing is concrete. The info on Emporis for this building is basically speculation based upon the latest info.
However I have more concrete info about City Central Tower 4. It will be built on top of a 4 level 'cultural' building which will be built behind the GPO. The hotel tower will have an aditional 10 levels and it will contain 300 units. The GPO will also be converted into part of the hotel, but it is expected that there will be boutique shops inside. This info is also subject to change and construction is still years away.

Excellent pics Pants. The glass on this building looks amazing. On the 3rd and 4th pics there are panes up the side of the glass atrium with horizontal stripes, are they some type of small opening windows? Looks different. Like the way all of the floors in the glass atrium that do not meet the glass panes aren't marked in the floor attachment panes. This building is going to look amazing once it's finished. A definate contender for one of Australia's best office buildings even with its bulky box design. Here is one fairly basic pic I took yesterday, (Wednesday):

The first of the final outer core cladding (to go voer the orange stuff) is on. Saw it quickly as I drove past. It was a high gloss finish, couldn't quite see the colour though.
