It's certainly an impressive project in many ways, and I'm hoping that strong architectural merit for all of the towers will be one such way.

I don't understand why they haven't demolished the other Balfours buildings on adjacent sites (for Altitude etc.). Those buildings have asbestos roofs. Why make dust when you already have Gallery either nearly completed or totally completed. Surely those buildings aren't still in use?

Looks like the next stage (stage 3) may be the 8 level job on Franklin Street directly south of Altitude. I wonder when they will start on the old Bus Terminal site? Obviously a while away yet.

UrbanSG, I would assume the building you are mentioning will be next. It is denominated Building 3. However on my details it is still part of Stage 2. Building 4, north of Altitude facing Mellor Street and Ranelagh Alley is also part of Stage 2. It is possible Urban Construct/Multiplex may have changed things.UrbanSG wrote:Looks like the next stage (stage 3) may be the 8 level job on Franklin Street directly south of Altitude. Other buildings are: Building 5 (twin of Altitude directly west). Building 6 (facing Franklin Street and on corner of Elizabeth Street). Building 7 (on Elizabeth Street directly west of Building 5).
I also assume the buildings will be constructed as numbered.
Cheers

The applicant was "The Precinct Stage 3". So it would be fair to say that it is for stage 3?Ho Really wrote:UrbanSG, I would assume the building you are mentioning will be next. All very encouraging.
I wonder if they'll spend as much time and effort on a train station when they expand train facilities to properly service the metro area?

The Precinct has nothing to do with the government...cleverick wrote:All very encouraging.

It will be great to see some height and bulk west of Morphett Street.
[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 x 62m, 19 lvl Towers
Demolition has started for the next buidling, on the Fraklin st side. This should be for the first of the 18 level apartments which will really start the preinct development off properly.
[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 x 62m, 19 lvl Towers
Now they're the towers Im looking forward to. These are going to have the greatest impact on our skyline (along with K W St south) for the past 15 years. And atleast we know with Urban Construct that they dont stuff around at all, so I am assuming that work will start straight after the old pie shed is taken downProfessor wrote:Demolition has started for the next buidling, on the Fraklin st side. EMACORD AUTOS are said to be moving out on to Main North Road soon. This will probably pave the way for more development around the Precinct.

Not quite. If it's demolition of a building on Franklin Street it will be for the construction of a similar 8-level building to The Gallery on Morphett Street. Altitude will be to the north of this demolished building. See a post (on the previous page) by Ben and me.Professor wrote:Demolition has started for the next buidling, on the Franklin st side.
