There are quite a few apartments along Anzac Highway in suburbs called Plympton and Kurralta Park. These suburbs are good middle class suburbs and they are close to the CBD and to Glenelg.
Hi, I am also looking for accomodation in Adelaide and was going through this thread. I found that the following locations were suggested here:
North Adelaide
Croydon
Plympton
Glanville
Kurralta Park
Can you guys suggest some more please?
My situation is similar to Aseem - I am immigrating with my wife and will be looking for jobs after arrival. Till then, my budget would be tight to around $130 a week. So I am looking for a decent place (close to CBD - initially) from where we can commute easily for interviews/job consultants.
I hope you understand my situation.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
For the price range you indicated you wont be able to find rental accomodation in North Adelaide. North Adelaide is one of Adelaide's best suburbs, and accordingly the rents are high.
Glanville is in my opinion a little bit too far from the CBD, however you may be able to find a unit to rent for the price you mentioned. It is also close to Cosmopolitan Semaphore and the beach.
I would give Croydon a miss, it is located next to Adelaide's poorest suburbs, and crime and prostitution around that part of the city is high compared to other parts of Adelaide.
If I were you I would go for one of the units or apartments along Anzac Highway in Plympton and Kurralta Park. The area is nice, and is is located very close to the CBD and to Glenelg. However I had a look at my local newspaper and the rents for apartments in Kurralta Park are around $150-$170.
If this is too much you could try Woodville South or Woodville West, the area is not as nice as Kurralta Park or Plympton but it is a good working class/ middle class area.
You could also try a suburb called Richmond, it is very close to the CBD.
