It looks like there may finally be some levelling of the site occurring today ready for a concrete pour for the basement in the near future. Considering this one has now been under construction for half a year we are really due for some substantial progress soon, hopefully.

The reasons why have been discussed a few pages back eg lawyer issue re: access for a neighbour which resulted in a shift of the contruction site access point, plus waiting for development approval for an amended design and work to ensure the northen boundary wall would not collapse.
Then rain came along (which should have been expected by the site manager) and made the site a muddy mess over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully they can get the site level and concreted before the next lot of rain. The number of workers on site seems to fluctuate a lot. Sometimes there are a few, other times a fair few.
I just want to see a crane or two and some steel finally going up.

Me too! Can hardly wait - such an impressive place and fills KWS(with highrise) much closer to the main CBD as well.UrbanSG wrote:

Yes, I understand those have been the main reasons (in particular the latter one rain). I was thinking about the absence of a foundation and the workers (who do the formwork and concrete). As we all know, when the foundation is laid the steel will go up quickly.UrbanSG wrote:The reasons why have been discussed a few pages back eg lawyer issue re: access for a neighbour which resulted in a shift of the contruction site access point, plus waiting for development approval for an amended design and work to ensure the northen boundary wall would not collapse.

Pics from today. Seems more like the building site for a house with the lack of activity!

Thanks for all the pics wilkiebrkid.
This one sure is taking a while. Look at all that water in the core pits! You can see they are levelling the site for the concrete pour. They had better hurry up though as there could be some more rain soon and rain is forecast next week too.

Did you guys notice a hose into a drain on King William Street? They've obviously got it there to pump out the water. As I don't go down there often, I was lucky enough on Tuesday as my wife and I went to Glenelg on the tram.
Cheers

Yeah that hose has been their for a while. Didn't seem to help much over the last few weeks. The site was still waterlogged unfortunately even with that pipe.

Installation of pre-fab concrete panels happening as we speak. Trucks are lined up down King william st.
I dare say that they are for the core.
