lol the title of that pdf is Sustainable Adelaide. When I glanced over it I thought it said Sensational Adelaide, especially because the Adelaide is in bold, just like the logo here. Also that picture of a tram is also not the best photoshop job.. looks quite fake to me lol

Awesome!, I saw something about redeveloping stations (such as the Gawler line) aswell.

I still can't get the smile of my face, this would have to be the most important project I've wanted to see done in SA. Can't believe a SA government will spend over $2bn on Public Transport - shows great vision from the Rann Government and also shows again Adelaide & SA has a very bright future.

Very proud South Aussie atm :D

Tremendous news! I notice from the Sustainable Adelaide PDF that the rail gauges will be standardised. I wonder, though, how the connection will be made from the Ent Cent tram stop to Bowden station, seeing as that station is almost directly opposite the Centre. Some sharp curves might be involved, unless the tram stop is going to be slightly short of the centre, on the bridge perhaps? And I can't imagine that there will be a flyover across Port Road, so sounds like another level crossing will be needed, and probably some demolition of buildings by the intersection.

All this is very exciting .... and next budget will more than likely be bigger and better!!!

Keep your eyes out in the very near future for even more government announcements which will change Adelaide forever!

This is all piecing together at the right time. The mining boom, as it picks up, will provide an even greater impetus and greater spending on infrastructure projects!

Exciting times for Adelaide and South Australia ..

The stations will be upgraded under the $2billion program but the station upgrade program will be completed serveral years after electrification of the Outer Harbor line although I'd imagine they would be.

Does anyone know how the sharing of the line would work?
Would there be tram stops along the shared section of the line, or train stops, or both? Would they be of different heights?

If there is one type of stop and not another, wouldn't there be problems with trains getting banked up behind trams as they stop or vice versa?
