With the recent announcements about the electrification and upgrade of the adelaide train and tram network
and high-density transit oriented developments i think NIMBY25 or whatever he calls himself must be having
plenty of restfull nights sleep. With the current problems of high petrol prices, climate change and the need
to become more environmentally sustainable etc while becoming more economically sustainable means that
the government is no longer going to sit back and let the NIMBY mob to restrict sustainable and environmentally
friendly development.

Yes high rise development may piss of the NIMBY mob but it is more environmentally friendly because
you reduce urban sprawl and the environmental footprint....

All i say is too bad NIMBY if you dont like Adelaide anymore because its now changing too fast for your liking
there's always HOBART....

Lol true. I always hated how nimby's are selfish are don't want change. I have lived here my whole life, so isn't my view of change is better just as valid and equal to their opinion. Very lob sided in this state.

Hey guys can get keep this on topic and stop slagging off a member who was banned ages ago? It's easy to attack someone when they cant defend themselves. So we disagree with him, we know, let it go.

Now i don't know if this is a fair argument, I mean, If you want to live in a big city, why not just move to one? and let the nimby's have adelaide?

Updated.

It's tiring reading thread after thread making sure all my information is correct. :(
If there's any mistakes, holler and I'll fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks Shutz (It's easier for me to say it that way). It's good to have list on what's happening in the CBD construction-wise, all in one place.

Great list Shuz. Just wondering whether the "east apartments" on the corner
of Hutt and Angas streets qualifies as it's now under construction _ maybe
it doesn't have the neccesary height to qualify ?

Great seeing so many cranes and so much construction. Have'nt known Adelaide like this for some time. 7 now??

Took a trip to Bris. CBD yesterday - heaps of activity - Hammerheads very common. (Seem more common on taller buildings).Made me think 'Adelaide' not so far away. (Given the mines, defence etc.) and the number of projects coming up.

I have set 7 levels as the defualt minimum height to which I monitor construction progress. Otherwise I'd have a list that would include Mr X's second floor addition to his house....

I think its fair to say that 7 levels is an appropriate height to which a buildings 'vertical element' begins to be recognised?

Okay folks, this is the big update that I'll need some serious help with. What I would like to do is to compile a very large database of information regarding developments across Adelaide. The newest addition of information includes the square meterage of office space, and apartments contained within each development. At the side I have compiled a 'quickstats' overview of the office space and apartments under construction, approved, and proposed in Adelaide. I have established a formula which can quickly calculate these statistics, and are easily amendable at any time. Metropolitian developments at this stage have not been included in the data, but may be so at a later time. Little crane icons have now been included adjacent each development who possess a crane on its territory, just so the crane buffs can have a little squeal to themselves when they see them. :D

So pretty please with sugar on toast, will those who have accessibility to the information that is missing from the database, let us know in the respective building's thread or this one.

Wouldn't it be better to work with Adam on this one? He's already got his list and map.

I already do use his list and map as a source, in fact, just minutes ago I posted in his thread if he wanted to work on the idea together. I just get the feeling from a lot of people that it would serve well if we created a hybrid of the two?
