Tower E is promising. Being in the centre gives a real chance of a tallie. Thanks for that UrbanSG.

Tower 8 is H. They wont show Spire because it is not part
of the Aspen development

Tower 8 = H which you can see towards the back. Spire is on the same block but has nothing to do with Aspen and their City Central development therefore it isn't in the Concept Plan.

Tower E has huge potential. It will be one of the last towers to be constructed, sometime after 2010, I would think they would want to finish the project off with a larger tower, so it could go higher. Who knows maybe by then BHP will finally decide to sign up to a better office tower in Adelaide to reflect what will hopefully be starting up at Olympic Dam with the expansion. Who knows one can only dream :D

Colliers leasing director Jon Cranna said: "We have long touted this be Adelaide's version of Southbank or another version of (Sydney's) Darling Park."

yeah and yawn... its basically a group of office buildings, not exactly something I can get too excited about.

I mean, I'm not saying don't do it... by all means do it, just go ahead and do it!! but don't expect me to be excited by what is basically a group of reasonably standard offices!!

Well whilst I am not thrilled as we really need some more substantial height in Adelaide, overall, once the City Central development is complete it is still a fairly amazing transformation of what was terrible city block, apart from the existing GPO building.

It is also the most substantial overall development to have ever occurred in Adelaide, that part excites me :D It is shame that the buildings are rather bland, maybe just maybe they are saving the best till last.

Wayno, I like that comment  I have found there are concept plans are than there are very bloody vague concept plans that tend to be more conceptual, this one fits somewhere between the two :D Hmmm now I am confusing myself even more.

This sounds like just a lot of spin by Aspen to renew interest in their old city central masterplan
it doesnt sound like anything we havent heard before. If there was significant demand for
office space i am sure those buildings would have already been built or under construction.

Well it is not renewing their old city central masterplan. The tower E office block is different from the 20 level job originally proposed closer to King William Street. Yes there is repitition and yes there is spin but at the same time it is good to see they are pressing on. There is a demand for office space but it not going to all come at once. That is why they have said until around 2014.

Just looking around the world and in particular in America on their development forums the amount of construction and development has gone crazy, I am shocked at the amount of apartment towers that are currently going up in cities like Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta etc, it is no wonder we are now facing a severe credit crisis. Did they really think they would be able to occupy all of those apartment. They will be lucky to occupy half. Office construction has gone nuts over there too.

Slow and steady wins the race. I don't want another decade to 15 years of no construction because we built too many all at once now.
