Parafield Airport - Housing Subdivision

#1 Post by Wayno » Wed Aug 20, 2008 12:39 pm

I heard (at the pub last night) that Parafield Airport will soon be sold to a Property Developer to subdivide for housing. Gawler airport will be expanded. My source is an Accountant who is apparently involved in the process.

Anyone else heard likewise?

After how many beers did you hear this?

Not saying this isnt true, but i do know that Adelaide Airport Limited have refuted this claim in the past as they have a 99 year lease on the site.

6 vodka's for me, and my source had about 10 Jack Daniels...as you can see, we were coherent, sensible, and incredibly attractive to the opposite sex

Salisbury Council are apparently pretty keen to have the airport go. I've heard this a few times over the past couple of years. If I hear anything more, I'll keep you all posted.

Not true! But it's on the Salisbury Council wishlist!

The Fed's own the land and are not interested in selling... similar proposal was dismissed for Jandakot Airport (Parafield equivalent) in Perth.

Adelaide Airport Limited has a 99 year lease, as pointed out by bm7500.

Also, Gawler "Airport" is a glider strip only that is going to cut in two by the Northern Expressway!

Your accountant friend is a drunken fool!
