After careful analysis of the latest masterplan compared to earlier versions, there are some changes, albeit small.

Amongst the changes are that the buildings that comprise City Central are now referred to by letters instead of numbers. Furthermore the Darling Building is now slated as 'boutique office' as opposed to previous versions where it was intended to become residential apartments. The GPO is now just 'retail' instead of 'boutique retail' in previous versions.

Did'nt someone once say (on this thread) that they spoke to a few people on the CC site who said one of the buildings was of the Currie St proposal height. Hope this is block 'E'.

Overall looks OK but not clear enough for any further detailing in comments.

yeah, Building E at 30+ stories would be great...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Yay, news, how exciting.

I've tried to incorporate all of the changes into my map. Could someone please have a look and make sure it's all correct:
http://buildinglist.photoadelaide.com/M ... ?maploc=13
You'll need to hit the "Show All" button, as the visionary and complete buildings are hidden by default.

Now that I've changed all of the numbers to letters, I can't help but noticing that the CC website still lists them by numbers. I'm wondering if this was just some creative licence by The Advertiser. Note that CC4 is both Tower E and D.

Cheers.

Adam, my only observation is that you should label Darling House (CC9) as a 'redevelopment', but apart from that everything is correct. Also, you have Azucar listed as 30m/17 levels. It is actually 32m and 12 levels.

I wouldn't pay much attention to the letters, I reckon that is definately Advertiser laziness.

I was looking through my files and came across the old City Central concept plan I saved back a few years ago. The current concept is an improvement on the old I reckon. CC1 turned out to be 4 floors higher, CC2 although not great didn't have that completely blank wall and tower 'E' is in a better position that could facilitate a tall 20+ storey building. Obviously the residential towers were scrapped where CC8 is approved but don't forget the current CC8 proposal was originally only a low to mid rise office block proposal approved a couple of years ago.

I'll give it one thing - our notable density is to be enhanced yet again. The potential for buildings D, E and G is practically bursting from the page, for the opportunity exists for quite marvellous buildings to assume a dominance over Victoria Square that will never be blocked. It would, however, be a travesty if the entire block were to be comprised of yet one square semi-transparent glass stump after another.

Add Spire, the other Franklin St development next door and Currie st development renders to this and it should look pretty impressive :D

After seeing the concept plan I still have faith in this development. Towers D, E and G have sooo much potential that I hope is realised, tower E especially. I'm hoping 40 stories! :D On the other hand, If they screw this opportunity up I will be very very

It seems fair the plan has been modified to protect the integrity of the GPO clock tower, so that it is not overwhelmed by the dominance of the larger and taller towers (ANZ and Tower E).

I would most likely bet that Tower G will be of the same height as the setback of Tower H to provide consistency in sight lines and streetscape visuality, and that Tower E has been reserved as the landmark tower (as previously suggested before) of Westpac height, or indefinetly 100m+. Tower D looks nothing more like an add-on like Ernst&Young is to ANZ, but if theres anything I hope for in its design, is to block out the pods!

Walked past the site today and it looks like electra house may finally be u/c. There was a mobile crane and a shit load of steel on the site. I am actually as excited over this as I am about the next CC tower. Need more projects that will add some vibrancy to street life, esspecially in this area of town. Off the top of my head it said this will include a lounge, cafes/bars/restaurants & gaming (yay more pokies, cause we dont have enough). Really hoping they create a nice laneway next to this building with cafe's/restaurant's ala Melbourne style from KWS all the way through to the centre of the site.

Sounds good snorkie.

I agree the Electra House development is exciting because it will be the main gateway/pedestrian link to the City Central site from King William Street.

Plus the site has been looking terrible all fence off, with vandalism and an area of dust on our prime city street. Bring on this development. The mix of glass and Electra House will should look great, I hope.

Did they end up installing the mansard roof on Electra House?

Further to snorkie's information yesterday, they also seem to be doing some road/pathway works between Franklin and Waymouth Streets today. Not sure if it is for car parking or the final accessway through from Franklin to Waymouth Streets.
