[CAN] Re: #APP : Azucar Apartments | 30m | 11lvls | Student
Yeah, not a big fan of the rubics cube tiles on the lower level... Otherwise, should make for an good addition to the surrounds lol. Will be interesting to see what the building will look like once its actually complete.
Anyone know who the architect is?

Wow, that was quick! Thanks Will...
Never heard of him before... Would have thought that a building of this size would've been designed by one of the larger architectural institutions.

It's not too big. In the scheme of things it isn't actually regarded a large development. It is a $3 million development of 21 apartments.slider wrote:Wow, that was quick! Thanks Will...

Not meaning to challenge your knowledge or to start an argument (nothing worse than a noob picking a fight on a forum ); but from my experience, $3m for a 12 storey building sounds seriously understated, even with its small building footprint. As you probably know, the costs of building upwards are significantly higher than building outwards. They'd be looking at least at a couple of hundred thousand just for the lift system... I wouldn't be surprised if the cost of the building materials would add up to $3m alone - given the current prices for steel & concrete.
Just my

I agree, it does sound rather low, but I am just quoting what the developer has stated.slider wrote:Not meaning to challenge your knowledge or to start an argument (nothing worse than a noob picking a fight on a forum ); but from my experience, $3m for a 12 storey building sounds seriously understated, even with its small building footprint. (however I remember reading somewhere that developers seriously under-quote the value of their developments to pay less fees to the ACC)

11 levels within only 30 metres? Are these apartments to be inhabited by people without legs?
[CAN] Re: #APP : Azucar Apartments | 30m | 11lvls | Student
It is actually 12 levels and 32.4m.Omicron wrote:11 levels within only 30 metres? Are these apartments to be inhabited by people without legs?
The height from floor to ceiling for the lower levels is an acceptable 2.8m, however this drops to 2.42m for the upper floors.

I always thought 8 foot high ceilings were pretty much the norm these days?
[CAN] Re: #APP : Azucar Apartments | 30m | 11lvls | Student
This development is primarily designed for students and lower income earners.Cruise wrote:I always thought 8 foot high ceilings were pretty much the norm these days?

2.4 metres? If the poor kiddies install ceiling fans they will surely be decapitated. I shan't be visiting. Will wrote:It is actually 12 levels and 32.4m.Omicron wrote:11 levels within only 30 metres? Are these apartments to be inhabited by people without legs?
