Some of the shops along the Marion Road end of the development zone already have 'closing down' signs.

There is talk that the developers are looking into expanding this project and are now aiming for a 8-10 level building.

Excellent. Obviously they are making use of the nearby Tram line.

I spoke to the antique dealer today - he is closing in 9 weeks & won't be relocating. The remaining businesses will
apparently close in January 2009. He's been there 22 years, and very nice to talk to.

No, it was just an obscure thread title, which has been fixed (thanks).

Cheers. I do wonder how that "TOD" will turn out.

It is one of the identified TODs - part of Plympton Neighbourhood Centre TOD, and will have a better link with the
tram stop, and looks like an indented bus stop just south of Highway Inn ...

Highway Inn site at North Plympton - http://www.planning.sa.gov.au/go/develo ... h-plympton
To be underpinned by Transit Orientated Development principles, the proposal comprises:
[... Enhanced streetscape links and shared-use paths linking the development to the Marion Road tram stop
(approximately 120 metres to the South), upgraded bus shelters, provision of secure cycle storage; and linkages
to the extensive cycle routes in the area; ...]

It couldn't be worse than what is there now, esp if Marion Road is upgraded / widened there at same time.

I doubt Marion Road would be widened, the Highway Inn itself was just extensively refurbished. I do hope they reinvigorate the road though with streetscaping and fresh asphalt and kerbing.

Second hand / antique store has changed his signs, and will now be trading until 31st January next year.
