Metal clubs?

No, not the weapon. I am a fan of metal music, and as such am looking for a pub/club (preferably the former) that plays metal music. Does anyone know of a place in Adelaide (or perhaps the NE suburbs?) like this?

Try downstairs at Enigma. Not my kinda place, but it exists.

There's not much in the NE suburbs, the closest thing is probably the Magill club(uren st, magill) which has a few shows here and there. Shotz night club has recently started putting gigs on and so has the Adelaide Unibar. The Unibar has a great pa and the room sounds great..you also get $10 jugs of pale! There's also Live on Light Square(formerly the Lizard lounge, Viva etc), Fowlers live on North tce and the Underground on Waymouth (unlicenced, full of emos, mostly hardcore shows) Of course the old favorites Enigma & the Crown n Anchor are still going strong. Enigma is great for what they offer but if you go there late on a saturday it's not a very pleasant pub to be in. Jive (next to Enigma) has the occasional metal show as well.

unless im sorely mistaken i would say forget the NE suburbs for clubs/bands.. there's just not that much happening there (lived there most of my life and still now).. about the closest you'll come is striking up a conversation with someone at Holden Hill Music about metal..

the other guys suggested the best for metal as far as i know, also keep your eye out for more famous metal bands, alot of which seem to play at HQ or the bigger ones at Thebarton (Theby) Theatre

Enigma on Hindley, Crown and Anchor on Grenfell, Fowlers on Nth Terrace, The Underground on Waymouth, NSS in Elizabeth, Salt Church in Gawler, sometimes West Beach skate park has some metal gigs although its more of a punk scene there

NE suburbs have hardcore gigs in people's garage if you know the right ones Sometimes theres a fairly decent turnout aswell

Syke, is finished. Replaced with "BLACK MARKET" @ HIGHER GROUND (NIGHT TRAIN BUILDING LIGHT SQUARE) now on SATURDAY nights. Best club venue ive ever been too. best sound system too but bring earplugs its much louder than average..

RIOT still occurs on sunday every long weekend at the Producer's Bar, Electric Light Hotel
