How tall is this new crane? If the building comes anywhere near its height, then it will have a massive impact on the skyline!

After having a good look at this crane on Friday, I'm sure they'll have to fit a climbing collar, as the cabin doesn't appear to be close to 60m. If you also look just under the crane cabin you can see a slight overhang on the mounting collar, where a climbing collar can be mounted later.

I was thinking the same thing but don't know much about cranes and thought they had to install it when it first goes up, so was worried that was the final height as it didn;t have a climbing collar on it. It looks big from a distance but up close as Pikey said the cabin really is no where near 60m.

The corebox is assembled, and judging by the pump on site today, I'd say another core pour os not far off.

I went by the site other day and the core is coming out of the ground. A lot of steel and concrete being installed so should be an imposing structure.

From my office window the crane does not look like it is high enough for 18 levels but maybe the floor height is really small.

(Anyway, just flew into Dubai and lucky enough to have a window seat on the starboartd side so could see the world's tallest building. Allthough during the approach I did not look down it it - anyone there would have looked down on the plane! It juts up a long way into the sky).

while riding up to Montifieore Hill today, Ive also just noticed how much of an impact to the skyline this will be, especially from the north. And when the cluster of them are completed (whenever that may be) it will look great. Does anyone know if the other 4 towers are on track, or will the downturn put them on hold too. Hope not

I too hope the other towers go ahead. Adelaide needs these to go ahead and expand the skline and cbd's density. It's been a long time coming.

58 m is good. I was looking at the height of the crane and worried that it was at the final building height!
