Arki, I have at present only one factor I could use to support your case. If you observe roughly around p15 - 16 of this thread, someone sent in a front elevation only diagrammatical representatiuon of this building. In it, the floor just below the glass section was recessed without beam supports holding up the overhang from the above floors. The last photo in the thread does not show any such break in the external beams. Net result - cheaper to make and less interest aesthetically.
Now I might be totally wrong here, as I seem to remember(but can't find) a front elevation diagram alteration made to exterior of the lower five - six floors, with the upper ones only with the glass facade. The lower floors harked back the older style architecture of the 1970's. As I remember, no recessed floor below the glassed levels either.
I'm hoping for something, to use that oft overused word, that has aesthetic 'impact' in our southern CBD approach. Just have to waiot and see.

I know drooling over 'bulk' is so 2008, but this is making a fantastic impact from the airport terminal view.

Great shots Ben - particularly the first one. Hoping the building will end up as the renders show - will be a real letdown as another bland box. I know the 'king' is already unimpressed. Like him, I can only work on renders and photos. The real situation is often quite different - as in real estate shots. Potential here is great but the financial squeeze may tell otherwise in the end.
Is that the hammerhead still up at the Coglin site. Long overdue to come down is'nt it?

I don't think anyone on this site has any "inside knowledge"... perhaps you could try asking the leasing agents?joshzxzx wrote:Nice pics as always Ben!

400 KWS should have at least 3 ground floor retail tenants including a large coffee shop and a credit union so there should be plenty of street activity when all is finished. Will be great to see the glass go up, looks like all is progressing well.

A little late I admit but I got this photo of the glass brick from Adelaide airport back on the 5ht before I buggered off to Sydney for a week. Granted the photo isn't brilliant but the imact it will make will be increadiable.

External stonework? going up now. Looks better in person. I just hope it's not going to be too much.

Thanks for the pic Ben.
It will be interesting to see how the different shades of fake stone and glass come together. Both materials will either make or break this building imo.

Had a quick drive past this one today. More stone panels have gone up and with varying shades, it looks interesting so far.
The stone also seems to have a polished granite appearance, looks very decent. This together with high quality blue glass would make this building a stunner.
Hopefully it will be decent glass unlike Lot 8, Coglin Street.
