News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
There was an unmarked A330-300 at the airport today that took off at about 1230.
Could it be that Singapore Airlines are training pilots for the introduction of thier new A330-300's in May of this year?

How is demolition of the old domestic terminal going, anyone got any recent pics. I would go and look myself but it's a bit too far to drive.

Yes they certainly do and I will be utilizing their service in June for my sisters wedding. Thankfully flying between Adelaide and Canberra is a terminal to terminal experience unlike Tiger services to Melbourne where the plane pulls up 500 metres from anywhere and then you collect your luggauge from a third world carousel under a tin shed only to lug all your stuff over to the main terminal for a connecting service.

Aceman (or any Canberra based members), can you please enlighten us on the upcoming redevelopment of Canberra Airport?
Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
The A330 you saw was CS-TMT a Portugese registered aircraft operated by Strategic Aviation. This aircraft is chartered by the Defence Department and regulary conducts flights from Australia to The Middle East and other operational areas where is primarily used as a troop transport charter.rogue wrote:There was an unmarked A330-300 at the airport today that took off at about 1230.

The redevelopment at Canberra airport is well and truly underway with deep excavations in what was the main carpark outside the terminal. Columns have started appearing now as well.rogue wrote:Aceman (or any Canberra based members), can you please enlighten us on the upcoming redevelopment of Canberra Airport?

Hi all... long time lurker here.
Does anybody know if any international carriers are planning to come to ADL, apart from what we have now? Emirates, maybe?
I usually fly SQ and the flight from Adelaide is always full, meaning there's a demand, or are we too small a place?

My work is never finished.
Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
It is more due to Adelaide's location. We are in the middle of Australia, with our coastline facing Antarctica._MO_ wrote:Hi all... long time lurker here.

Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
Was it just my imagination or did I see a jumbo jet landing yesterday? I could have sworn that what I saw was a Singapore Airlines B747-400, but I can't recall ever seeing a jumbo in Adelaide before...

I think that there were Jumbo freighters coming in when we had the Grand Prix.
Blimey that was a while ago.
