[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 19 lvl - 62m towers
Give it a chance to be finished I recon. The render looks completed and well established with residents, The last photo was taken, one on a different angle and two, there is still construction rubbish around. I recon wait to see the finished product nicely landscaped and all before being too harsh.
Also when the other Precinct buildings go up this would probably be sure to compliment the rest of the area.

[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 19 lvl - 62m towers
the recessed space between each "pod" appears to be greatly reduced compared to the render. I think that's what cosmetically bugs me the most - hardly an engineering challenge, instead probably motivated by "cost cutting".
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

thanks Urban
I'm fascinated by 1960s British housing estates, and this looks like a modern version of the low rise ones found in south London, Leeds or Sheffield, so I like it. Quite interesting
It will look better if residents open those balcony windows, and like ynotsfables said, we should wait until its finished. Speaking of finished projects, now that they have cleaned the glass and finished the paving around the front entrance, Lot 8 Coglin looks quite sparkling from the Coglin Street view.

Seconded. I walked past this on my way between dinner and desert (Sugar Bowl mmm) and it looks okay, it's just the individual pane frames that let it down. They give the windows a kind of high school from the '70s look.Norman wrote:It does look slightly better in real life.

Guess it will look better once people move in, and put curtains, blinds up eg
[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 19 lvl - 62m towers
People cannot be trusted these days to have aesthetically-pleasing window treatments (or furniture, or paint colours, or....). I walk past goodness knows how many new homes whilst traipsing about the suburbs, and I am constantly frightened by the hideous dross being thrust upon the unsuspecting public. If we must rely on the dubious decorating taste of the great unwashed to improve the looks of a building, god help us all.

I was just thinking about this and came to the same conclusion - it is the dominence of the window frames in reality as against the render that reduces class and style that could have been there. Maybe individual owners will address this somewhat as per the top floor central area in the pic.monotonehell wrote:Seconded. I'll cut to the chase - those windows look fucking awful.
I hope to god they look better in real life, or when some are retracted, because they've made a mess of it.
It looks like a Lego house.

I think even the thick frames could've looked infinitely better if they'd just used a decent colour overall. It's like they've stumbled across a factory closing down and bought all of it's old machinery paint on the cheap.skyliner wrote:I was just thinking about this and came to the same conclusion - it is the dominence of the window frames in reality as against the render that reduces class and style that could have been there.
