Re: #U/C: South Road Tram Overpass
No trams tomorrow morning due to construction delays with the new track "not settling"...

According to 891 radio, a test tram may run over the temporary track "in an hour or so" (about 3pm), with services to resume if the test is successful...

Yeah, I went to the tram stop, and the guys informed me it was closed. When I asked why (so to share with you guys), I was bluntly told. "The whole f***** thing's just bloody f*****."

Tell me about it, those tracks look really bad. Is it the perspective of the photo or what?
Re: #U/C: South Road Tram Overpass
It sounds like AdMet are doing very well at managing the situation, with staff at stops and plenty of buses. It's very difficult and expensive to materialise that sort of manpower at such short notice. I also notice that the AdMet website has plenty of information, including Google Streetview images of the substitute stops.
Are trams back up and running yet?

The track really is that uneven. Even the new track up at Belair wasn't this bad, someone really wasn't too careful with the ballast.danielphin wrote:Tell me about it, those tracks look really bad. Is it the perspective of the photo or what?
Maybe they could borrow the portable mini tamper up at Belair, it fits on the end of an excavator. Oh wait that won't work as they broke it the other day.
Welcome to Adelaide where everything is f***** broken

Re: #U/C: South Road Tram Overpass
Work on the track continued through Monday with Thermit welding at the Stop 7 end of the works winding up at 4:30pm.
Flexity 107 rolled into stop 7 around 5pm and was negotiating the first left-hand curve when an alignment issue with the overhead/panto became evident. It moved back into the stop and the TA personnel eventually returned to the depot. Overhead staff went into action, tweaking the alignment at both ends of the diversion.
Flexity 107 finally left stop 7, 11:15pm, at sub-walking speed and successfuly went to South Tce before returning. Flexity 102 followed around half past midnight but hadn't returned when I left.
Here's a shot of '107 and its friends crossing South Rd for the first time on the new diversion. (No tripod, sorry for the blurry pic).

Ha hah ahahahaha yeah i know that guy, i was friends with him in high school.
He would of just said that on purpose because he knows he will be on television (media loves controversy) and he has done that sort of thing before. He doesn't even use the tram, he owns a mini and lives in Norwood
