slightly off topic, but does anyone find it odd that there is no direct bus service from the Salisbury area to Port Adelaide. The Port River Expressway and the Salisbury Highway connector is now one of the busiest roads in Adelaide, as there is large proportion of the people living in the city of Salisbury that commute to the Port Adelaide/Wingfield area for work. Surely a bus from Mawson Lakes via Dry Creek, and Cormack Rd Wingfield (to service the thousands of blue collar jobs) to Port Adelaide would be a good idea, and wouldnt break the budget

Thats because Adelaides public transport is only there to service the 9 to 5 desk jockeys

Good to see from this edition that work will soon begin on the Noarlunga Line upgrade.

There are also some interesting renders here as well, good to see the Bridge over the Onkaparinga but the render of the Noalunga Centre interchange is almost unidentifiable!

Its simply the current bridge over the tracks with new buildings on it.

There has been talk for decades about extending the shopping centre over the station. If you've seen the size of the beams used, you'll realise its overkill for a simple overpass, you could drive trucks over it (actually some contractors do).

Noarlunga TOD - Transit Oriented Development

Planning Our City strategy 1.4

We are leading the planning for Noarlunga Regional Centre to be a modern thriving centre of at least 10,000 residents and workers. This will be centred on a rail/transit station and spanning east to the Expressway, south to Honeypot Rd, west to Bice Oval and north towards Christie Downs. The core of the TOD – roughly within a 400m walking radius from the station, will be developed as a high intensity mixed-use area. This means multi-storey shops, offices, entertainment, pubs/cafes and dwellings side by side around the station itself. The area west of collonades (behind bunnings) is already being developed by the housing trust.

Its VERY high density townhouses (Pretty much the highest density possible for individual townhouses), and is looking like a future ghetto.
