Does the 'warehouse' sit on the site as per the above renders? To me it appears to be much closer to the road and to be parallell with it?

i'm presuming the 'warehouse' is actually called the 'new live entertainment venue' on the above site plan? seems it will have a courtyard and forecourt built in front of it?

From what I understand is that boxy grey thing won't even be visble from Port Road as it will be covered by the big glass parts of the building that will extend to the road. That warehouse part is a big distance from the road leaving lots of room for things in front of it.

I think people in this thread are prejudging the built form from its skeleton. Look at the renders, there's a lot of structural embeleshments and window dressing to go up as yet. Most buildings are big boxes before they are finished.

The new building is set a fair distance back, should be ok. The canopy is now under constuction, will be the make or break on this one.

The steelwork for the entrance dome is taking shape, and looking true to render - similar size to the warehouse, but will overhang the
Port Road footpath, & dominate the site for people arriving from the City - with the banners, lighting & landscaping, should really
transform the place.

When working at the soccer last week; I meant to report that the canopy was under construction. Personally, I think it looks hideous.

From yesterday - the steelwork for the dome is nearly complete - the "warehouse" seems to match the existing shops in and around
the site better than the "hangar" and vacant plaza did (IMO) ...
