Adelaide Car Park Lands Preservation Association?

In an attempt to stave off clinical depression from thinking about yet another multi-story carpark going up in town, an idea flashed across my mind. Rather than giving people big intellectual arguments for why all this car park space is a bad idea (it's been said plenty often, and doesn't seem to be getting through), perhaps it's time to use some satire instead. Here's my plan:

Adelaide's been blessed with a multitude of wonderful parks: we have wildlife parks, botanic parks, play parks, amusement parks, even dog parks. And above all, we have plentiful car parks: places that cars can frolic and be free, an off-leash area for man's other best friend. But our car park lands are under threat from people who fail to see what joy and value lies in a car park. People who say that cars are loud and smelly; that they are dangerous because they're heavy, fast, and can't think for themselves; that they cost too much to buy and feed; that their parks are a waste of space.

In response to this crisis, the Adelaide Car Park Lands Preservation Association was formed to defend our car parking heritage. The ACPLPA believes that our car park lands are a gift from our parents not to us, but to our children, a gift we must preserve to hand on to them, for further preservation; it's sort of like lay-by, sort of, except it can never get picked up. Indeed, it is beholden on us to follow the example of our predecessors and provide further parks for the growing number of cars coming to our city.

ACPLPA membership criteria? Owning a car obviously. Do i get a discount for owning multiple cars?

Fantastic.

I'm a driver. I pay for registration, I pay fuel excise. That means I have the god given right to leave my car wherever I damn well please. Anything short of a free parking spot next to my destination that is easy to get to and never full is a denial of natural justice. And there mustn't be any traffic either.

we should have a festival of cars, where as many of Adelaides cars try and fit into the city centre at once, and toot horns to the sound of music. How many cars would there be in greater Adelaide - 300,000+, off the top of my head, prob more. Imagine them all in the city at once for a festival

I'm sure Prince George and Queen Anne attend them all the time in Seattle
