Re: Projects: Henley Beach/Grange
I have read that when the tramway was extended to Henley, the MTT used to build restaurants and things to attract people to the destination. Remember that back in the early 1900's when the tramway was built, there wasn't actually much at Henley. They also built the grandstand which was removed in the 70's - god knows where that went though. The Thai Orhid was a restuarant I think. I remember seeing photos of it with balconys etc on the front. Now its all inclosed...

Not sure where this is, but if adjacent to Baju as stated, it is likely to replace some or all of the shops between Baju & The Coffee Club:

So I assume that this will replace the Foodland further down the road on Henley Beach Road?

The development seems to be damaging a lot of heritage homes in the area due to the building techniques used. Latest pictures and commentary on Twitter at http://twitter.com/#search?q=henleyvoice

Re: Projects: Henley Beach/Grange
Its funny there a giant crane for such a small development, yet the much larger Infinity at West Lakes didn't have a tower crane at all.

I was surprised late last week when I realised I could see that crane from my office window in town.
