Prediction of a photo shoot with the H type, Flexity and Citadel @ the West Tce stop once the line is close to opening.

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
2am Monday morning 14th Dec 2009 and Citadis 201 was on it's trailers inside Glengowrie depot. Most of us who were there to watch headed off soon afterwards, leaving the contractors to guide the tram down the ramps. Melbourne enthusiasts should note that we're expecting another delivery next Monday night/Tuesday morning - I'd guess that loading would happen at Preston next Sunday.
In the attached shot, the trucks have pulled up on Morphett Rd. The far truck reverses first into Maxwell Tce (to the right of shot). It reverses a short distance up that road before reversing into the depot to the waiting ramps. The truck closest to the camera then pulls forward and follows (also reversing all the way).
Bill.

I saw it as a stark contrast of old generation vs. current generation vs. new generation. How we've (Adelaide) come in leaps and bounds in just a short timeframe.
Got this last night as part of an enthusiasts group tour down the Glenelg line to celebrate the 80th anniversary of it's opening, we chartered 367 on the left for the final part of the journey from Glengowrie depot to Glenelg. For those who might have any questions, we did all have permission to take photos in that part of the depot prior to leaving for Glenelg.

Now all we have to wait for is a shot of our new electric trains alongside a revamped poxbox and a sad jumbo. I wonder how long that'll take?
