That's no reason to not answer the question!

Nessie and Cora the Bora (the two Tunnel Boring Machines) have arrived. Nessie is already at work constructing the tunnel through which the intake water will eventually be sucked (or if you want to get ultratechnical, pushed in by the pressure of the sea).

I think a North Adelaide to Kent Town tunnel would require a soft ground TBM. Cora and Nessie are hard rock TBMs so would not be suitable.

Because fabricator was so seriously considering doing that. But now you've ruined his Christmas. I hope you're happy with yourself.

Not only would he be enjoying a TBM for this xmas, he'd also be enjoying for the next year, and the year after that...

How large are the TBM's that are being used on this project? (Length as well as cutter head diameter)

(Pictures fabricator leading the police on a subterranean pursuit at speeds in excess of a few feet an hour. The chase finally ends when International Rescue arrive with The Mole.)

*changes direction in North Adelaide to avoid police roadblock, and ends up accidentally surfacing in the old Le Cornu site, thus delaying it even further*

Because I'm an engineer. And a member of the Australasian Tunnelling Society.

Well aren't you a mr fancy pants then.

This goes well with my theory that engineers do not have a sense of humour.

Also, does the Tunnelling society have anything to do about love tunnels?

I refer you to my red comment on the previous page.

We do, but not everyone gets our jokes.

There's no official position, though many of individual members may have their own preferences.

Must be bored out of your skull in Adelaide then, its just the Heysen Tunnels and the Desal Plant.
You know it's gotten bad when your watching a tunnel machine called Nibbles that is powered by left over vegies.

ps: Hooligan, you spelt everything wrong
