Coca-Cola has created a splash in Facebook this month with the announcement a giant-inflatable coke bottle is set to tour the nation.

The bottle is inspired by their newly launched television advertisement, which shows teenagers being propelling out of a giant blow-up coke bottle in the middle of a tropical paradise.

The clip features a song by Cee-Lo from Gnarls Barkley and is already proving to be one of the most popular campaigns of the summer, racking up almost 40,000 hits on you-tube in the last month.

According to an event posted on Coca-Cola Australia’s facebook page, the “Coca-Cola Bottle Blast” is set to visit Glenelg on January 16- 17 2010.

Organisers are promising a 12.5 meter high blow-up coke bottle and “a custom built inflatable structure, spanning across a series of heights and challenges”.

However those expecting the computer generated fantasy of Coca-Cola’s clip will probably be disappointed.

When the “Bottle Blast” contraption, complete with trapeze and water slide, visited the Queensland’s Wet n’ Wild earlier this week there were no tropical islands in sight.

It is all part of part of a seven-stop summer tour, which will also take in Bondi, Cronulla and the St Kilda Festival.

South Australia Police Community Exhibition

The South Australia Police (SAPOL) is holding a Community Exhibition at Victoria
Square, Adelaide.

Meet with members from STAR Group, Mounted Operations Unit, Dog Operations Unit,
traffic police, general patrols, Band of the South Australia Police and other
specialist areas.

Take a look at the traffic vehicles including a drug bus, motorcycles and patrol
cars. You could even try your luck at operating a bomb disposal robot or learn
more about the intriguing work of the Forensic Response Section. Acquire first
hand experience using a mobile data terminal which is used in general patrol
vehicles and see the drug dogs in action.

The Community Exhibition is being held in conjunction with the SAPOL supported

A series of nocturnal temporary installations across the Adelaide CBD. Emerging from discarded fragments and city debris, watch as Annalise Rees and Suzie Lockery transform your urban environment. Shapeshifter will briefly cling to its urban surrounds, before dissolving back into more pedestrian form before the dawning light.

Luv the TDU. Spent the afternoon in the city with my family and some friends. We visited the pancake kitchen, bit of shopping in the mall, cibo coffee, late lunch with a stroll thru the rundle st market. Watched the race live and the replay on SBS just now. fantastic!

TDU was fantastic this year. Even more people seemed to be out and about. Several stages were very close run affairs - most exciting. Well done to all involved!
