If so, about time that got filled!

Yes it is. However there are two empty lots. This will fill the small empty piece of land on Coglin Street and should thus cover the western side of the carpark from the Gouger Street view. THe former creché site is designated for another proposal; the failed Minster Ellison building. However I can report that it still may go ahead.

Good to hear that this may still go ahead. That empty hole has been there too long.

As for the Coglin Street dev by Theo Samaras, it's a great spot close to the Glenelg tram, restaurants, pubs and the Central Market. Wonder how many apartments on the five floors and what the price range will be?

Cheers

This will be a slightly different style of apartment development, in that entire floors will be sold 'bare' thus allowing the buyer to either sub-divide each individual floor into a maximum of 3 apartments, or make an entire floor apartment.

The developers withdrew the application last night, and hence this building will be deliberated upon at a future council meeting. The developers most likely want to make some last minute changes.

A bit late to post this article I know, but I will anyway:

Buildings can bring alive the cityLAUREN NOVAK

A MIXED-use development proposed for the CBD will bring more people to the city's southwest, the developers say.

The $9 million proposal was approved by the Adelaide City Council development assessment panel last night.
The development at 115-127 Gilbert St includes a four-storey apartment building and 11 townhouses.

The main building will comprise 12 apartments, while there is room for one commercial tenancy and 14 car parks.

A second proposal for a 12-storey office and residential building at 16-20 Coglin St was deferred for consideration at a later meeting.

Forme Projex director Andrew Hudson said the development would create more activity in the area than the current building.

Last night's meeting was the first of the council's new development assessment panel, which comprises four independent experts and three council members, as required by legislative changes announced in June.

Is that quite tall for the area? It's quite a daring design, I kinda like it!
