This isn't very common on Adelaide construction sites. Most places tend to install pipes within the building and pump the concrete up from the bottom as it climbs rather than use a long armed rapidcrete tower to distribute the concrete.

It's a very good use of space. This pump and the crane are mounted in the gap of the two towers and will both be fitted with climbing collars, to rise with the building.

These types of pumps have been used on both Hindmarsh square towers, and the Aurora on Pirie tower.
Walking on over....

Me either - missed the ones on 20 HSQ altogether.

Lots of these being used on the Supreme Court Building in Brisbane. Photo from today.

That Brisbane site was one I was alluding to on my 12/2/10 post but NOT realising the nature of the concrete pumping mechanisms. This bldg should go up very fast now.

On 20HSQ the concrete pump(s) were not sitting on crane towers though.

Thanks jk1237 - been wondering about the progress here. Will certainly add to city density in that area.

Walking past this on the way to work and they're up to the 7th level now and it seems to be going at a level per week speed, maybe quicker. None the less, it's shooting up quickly!

They are leasing out the 4 retail tenancies on the ground floor.

ah, that new render answers a question. Since I work near there and walk past it everyday, I was sure that the amount of concrete blocks was 2 floors higher than the render which was meant to have dark glass all over the upper levels past above floors 6.

Is a shame, they have now gone for the most cheapest (and maybe nastiest) design now, instead of the glass on the upper levels. Hmmmm
