I'm quite puzzled as to how you can be familiar enough with the MATS Plan to know it includes grade separation of 20 suburban rail crossings, yet not familiar enough to know that parts of it were subsequently implemented!

Labor says it will fund $37 million of improvements(over 4 years) if it wins on March 20th.
This is in addition to plans/funds already announced.
There will be an additional 20 transport security officers(police trained and powers increased).
An additional 20 buses to be introduced in July 2011(this is in addition to the 60 on order)for the Outer South and Outer North
There will be upgrades to bus shelters,and additional bus shelters installed.

Opposition Leader Isobel Redmond said on Radio 5aa this morning that the Liberal Party Policy on Public Transport will be released early next week.

As I said, $37 million additional, i.e. $9.25m per year, is nothing to get excited about.

The various rail/tram/new bus projects add up to $2B, but its more like a $2B repair bill. Replace rotten sleepers and worn out rails with new stuff (repair work), replace obsolete diesel railcars with electric ones, simply because we are going to find it impossible to get any more (minor upgrade that should have been done decades ago), the OBahn buses are worn out so new ones is a no brainer (repair work), new stations because the old ones are too small for passengers or falling apart (repair work), and the pathetic tram extensions are pie in the sky stuff I doubt will get built in practice.
The only real rail upgrade is the Seaford Extension, and the federal government are paying for that one.
The public are crying out for better public transport in certain areas, Noarlunga is one, Gawler is another, and yet we see $39m for some buses and a few bus stops. But there is hundreds of millions for the southern expressway (pseudo peak hour public transport system only using cars), and the same for this entertainment precint Labor said they would never build.

The Liberal Party has this afternoon released its Transport Policy-it is a 22 page document covering all forms of transport.
Trains;-they are committed to expansion and electrification of suburban rail services including a branch line at Dry Creek for the Gepps Cross TOD.Review of timetabling.
Trams;- Nothing specific other than it states "integrates with train services"-does this mean the continuation of the current plan to have trams running through to West Lakes,Semaphore, and Port Adelaide?nothing specific.
Buses;-Review of After Midnight,Go Zone and Roam Zone services;Review bus timetabling,connectivity,local bus services connection .Review cancellation of orders for new CNC buses.

I laugh at the liberals transport plan, especially the bit which says have a branch line from Dry Creek to Gepps Cross using the old Northfield line. In the report it states data from a report dated 2007 from DTEI had no use for this corridor.
However, now the new railcar depot has been built on the site where this corridor once ran, there is NO WAY to have a branch line from the gawler line to gepps cross along the corridor as stated by the liberals.

The depot is on the junction of this branch line and Dry Creek station, but that doesn't mean it can't be built. The entire area is industrial, and ugly industrial at that, so just buy some extra land and move Dry Creek station further south.
Actually it would be a good idea to move that station, most of the businesses are further south anyway.

While that does seem a silly plan to me, wouldn't is be possible to run the line just S of the new depot?
What I found laughable are their disingenuous claims about the Southern Expressway:

State could afford it. Land was purchased at the beginning to ensure that in the years to come,
the Government would be able to duplicate the freeway.
The first phase of the expressway removed congestion from the South Road Corridor and has
