The government is killing two birds with one stone by also using it as the new drag racing venue.monotonehell wrote:Adam and Howie: Why's the superway under entertainment?

Are the new jails at Murray Bridge now completely off the radar? From memory, the idea was shelved because of the effect of the GST on the state's projects. I hope they're not completely scrapped, because it would have been godd for Murray Bridge's economy.
cheers,

It seems like it should be a matter of some concern that a town should be wanting a jail to improve its economy.rhino wrote:Are the new jails at Murray Bridge now completely off the radar? the $450 includes the pedestrian bridge across the Torrens at a cost of $20m
So the half baked stadium is only going to cost $430m

One election promise was to make the Adelaide festival annual from 2012 onwards.
That's a good one.

Re: #Official : ALP election promises thread (2010)
luv this thread - who would have thought of tracking govt promises!
Rann has pledged funding of $8 million a year for the Adelaide Festival, up from the $6.5m it received this year.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Here's a broken promise - not quite one of this year's, but recent enough:
September 4th 2009: "For 30 minutes Foley faced the media, flanked by Water Supply Minister Karlene Maywald, SA Water Board chair Philip Pledge and assistant Crown solicitor Chris Gray. The Government had filed proceedings in the Supreme Court, the Treasurer said. Damages claimed by the state could be in the order of “tens of millions of dollars”.
Four days after the election, this court action against French company Veolia was quietly dropped. There will be no tens of millions, not even millions. What actually transpired is secret (commercial-in-confidence, of course).

hardly suprising I guess, was never going to go anywhere.
hopefully i'll have a chance to do a bit more research in to other promises so we can finalise the list.

How is that a broken promise, exactly? Out of court settlements is a standard way of government regulation.

Was a new public transport ticketing system an election promise?
