It definitely had the Toyota F1 livery. Re: CBD Development: General
Ive asked about this site before and someone said it is owned by the law courts, but does anyone know of any time frame when that embarrasing, cringe worthy empty block of stunted little gum trees and weeds on the corner of K W St and Wright Street will ever be developed?
Re: CBD Development: General
That block used to be owned by the federal government, however in 2001under a land swap agreement, the federal government transfered ownership to the state government with the state government trnasferring ownership of the former police HQ site on Victoria Square so the Commonwealth Law Courts could be built.jk1237 wrote:Ive asked about this site before and someone said it is owned by the law courts, but does anyone know of any time frame when that embarrasing, cringe worthy empty block of stunted little gum trees and weeds on the corner of K W St and Wright Street will ever be developed?
Essentially that block is reserved for future extensions to the law courts.
However, there are no such plans at the moment.
Re: CBD Development: General
thanks for that Will. Ok if it was the main street of Mannum, or Hanson Rd in Wingfield, an empty block set aside for possible future use for 10-20-30 years is understandable, but for the main artery street in our city centre - I find this ridiculous. If the law courts dont need this land, sell it, or propose something. Even landscape it into a decent looking square of some sort. Hey it could be used maybe for another multi-storey carpark

Re: CBD Development: General
Most carparks are made to expand upward. The Wyatt Street carpark has been expanded a couple of times. If you go up to the top levels you can see the half ramps going nowhere. Same with (if memory serves) Topham.
So they'll probably be able to do most of the work with the carpark still open.

The wraps have started coming off the exterior of the Woolworths building in Rundle Mall uncovering a metal/silver like finish.
The ground floor is still a huge construction site.

All they've done is paint the existing cladding from the last refit grey, greyer and a couple of random panels are very grey. There's been no real work above ground. The ancient office level windows from the original building are still there. Photos wont be very interesting.Matt wrote:Photo please?

In today's AFR, the Origin Energy building at 1 King William St has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Probably a lot. I vaguely recall raising an eyebrow the last time 1 KWS was sold.AtD wrote:In today's AFR, the Origin Energy building at 1 King William St has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Any word on the construction work taking place in front and to the Eastern Side of the controll station building on the Adelaide railyards?
From the HMRI thread the new research building looks to being built in the Western side of the controll station building, but I have noticed significant reinforcing works being carried out in front and to the East of the controll station building. It looks like they are raising the height of the land to near road level. Would it be a car park for the controll station maybe? Assuming that the carpark to the West is used for the HMRI building... I may have answered my own question...
