Here are some Photo's of the Thebarton Tram Stop on Port Road and how "Unfinished" it is, at least in parts. These were taken on the 14th & 15th of April with a one cam, so apologies for the poor quality.

You see, they are slack. It took them over a week just to make a concrete bus slip. A week! and there were workers there almost full time.

Constantly there are workers just standing around, not seeming to do anything. Poor form.

I guess there's no urgency now that the election date has been and gone?

I'm really disappointed with the design and appearance of the new tram stops on the Entertainment Centre extension. Why are they so different to the stops in King William Street and North Terrace?

Veemur - This happened to create variety from the boredom as you travel on the trams from Glenelg to the ENT CENT. You silly, silly chap!!

But,seriously, I am greatly disappointed at what I am reading - esp. of Thebarton stop. Better than KWS Sth I suppose. Can't understand why continuity of architecture and quality was not maintained other than because of financial constraints. Poor result.

Ahhh the SA whinging never fails. It's the only constant in all these projects.

Government: look everyone, we built you this great new tram line that's fast and modern and free.

Adelaidian: I don't like the colour.

Yer? well some of us like the idea of the new citadis trams being yellow and black striped, like bumble bees taking us to and from work.

i don't think most people criticise the look of the tram its the unclear future planning of it.

It would certainly be an appropriate livery to take us to Glenelg!

The tramline has been extended to City West for around 3 years now, when they first opened there was a person at the tram stop who will catch jaywalkers where are they now, is this something to do with cost cutting or something.
Maybe the drivers should be given ammunity for hitting pedestrians. You know, weed out some of the idiots in the world
I personally think that the number of lights on North Terrace is ridiculous. Melbourne CBD has trams running all over the place and generally the tram stops are placed just before a road intersection and have zebra crossings at the front and back of the stop to help pedestrians cross the road safely. Would something like this be feasible in Adelaide?

PS now that i think about it why ar there no zebra crossings in adelaide? Every other city in the country seem to utilise them?

Because we have major traffic-lighted intersections with very little distance between to warrant zebra crossings as well.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

Sorry mono, I don't think that's an acceptable answer! There are countless places in the CBD where a zebra crossing would be appropriate – both as new crossings where none exist today (eg Rundle St, Gouger St, etc) and as replacing traffic lights (eg Pirie St, Frome Rd, Kintore Ave, Victoria Dr, War Memorial Dr, etc).

Pedestrian priority is something Adelaide does very poorly IMO. As said, Melbourne regularly puts a zebra crossing over a 4 lane road to reach the tram stop in the middle. Sydney even has zebra crossings on the southern approaches to the harbour bridge.
