Re: News: Adelaide City Council
Why is the Adelaide council running at a deficit? What plans are in place to return the council to surplus?

Why does Ann Moran comment on any and every issue that has to do with Adelaide?
Re: News: Adelaide City Council
If I gave the impression that the Council is running a deficit I must set the record straight. In fact we have an Operating Surplus of $7.62m which has been applied to Strategic Projects.peas_and_corn wrote:Why is the Adelaide council running at a deficit? I have attached the summary page from last Tuesday's Council meeting agenda item at which we adopted the budget and set the rates for 2010-2011

Probably because journos want her opinion - there aren't any other councillors that are anywhere near as well-known (and respected by some) as her.JamesXander wrote:Why does Ann Moran comment on any and every issue that has to do with Adelaide?

Re: News: Adelaide City Council
I’ve provided a summary of the 2010/11 budget on my blog – http://stephenyarwood.blogspot.com/2010 ... uncil.html
The entry contains a good map outlining major projects.
I fly out to Denmark tomorrow morning for a 3 week trip – have won a scholarship to finish my MBA at Summer School in Arhus – Denmark’s second biggest city. I expect to watch the Socceroos DESTROY Serbia in a Copenhagen pub!
Cheers

Councillor Plumridge's 50th Notes edition - well done David! we appreciate your open and frank communications
This is interesting ==> (Item 12.5) A proposal to create shared use zones in Coromandel Place, French St & Chesser St was endorsed for consultation. These are busy and historic laneways and activation would be great for the city.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I almost did last Friday for my "seeya" work lunch. But we changed to the Ambassador's at the eleventh hour. Wish I hadn't now, they were crap.Prince George wrote:Oh yes, that would be great - and it reminds me, I really must make a visit to The Historian Hotel.
Do I smell a S-A get together perhaps?
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

I heard some murmours about this one, I really hope something like that happens, I didn't realise that that area would have enough foot traffic to make it viable but hopefully it does.Wayno wrote:Councillor Plumridge's 50th Notes edition - well done David! we appreciate your open and frank communications
