[ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
Re: U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
When did the render for this new "tallest of the development" come to light? The height will be nice regardless, but they should accentuate the building with more than just height. Can't they slope the roof or something? A spire would be unique for Adelaide but they always offer a bit of a false perspective. Is this CC4 or a complete new addition to city central? Would be good to know some more details as to the likelyhood of it going ahead...
Re: U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
Definatly some contradiction in the report but the last tower will be the tallest and the "iconic" tower of the development. I have counted about 31 levels from that preliminary render. This Tower is the last to be built and detials are unlikely to be know before mid 2012. Tower 4 and 7 seem to be moving ahead though and should see some action late next year or FH12 as it mention in the report.
I think the best is yet to come from this development.
It's interesting they have mentioned Tower 7 as shortlisted for Bendigo and Adelaide bank when Tower 7 is meant to be hotel/resi which makes me think the one of the two towers for tower 4 will take up resi/hotel componant or mixed use.

Just imagine 115 King William Street in this render blocking out Westpac (hopefully). Westpac certianly looks very dated next to all the modern buildings soon to be all around it.Pants wrote:

I was thinking the same thing about the westpac looking outdated once this bunch is completed. I always though that for a late 80's building, it doesn't show it's age "too much", especially when you compare it to telstra house which was completed a year or so earlier (the same era).
I'm still mesmorised by the thought of tower4. When were the renders released? 31 levels would have it at about 125m if it were office floor height. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves I guess!

They were always talking about how the city central master plan would give height to the city but I thought it was just a gimmick until they mentioned CC4

It intrigues me that the B7-Tower 7 building is the only one to look measurably different from all the others. That tall one is going to take one hell of a pre-commitment, too - with floorplates at least as big as CC2/ANZ, but notably taller.
Re: U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
Looks like there is meant to be some street-scape work to be done as well perhaps.
Re: U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
Scrub that - if the tall one is Tower 4, then the Aspen presentation tells me that it has a smaller leasable area than the ATO's Tower 8. That's remarkable, considering it appears to include a ~12 storey wing directly behind Electra House in addition to the 24-storey main section.Omicron wrote:It intrigues me that the B7-Tower 7 building is the only one to look measurably different from all the others. Isn't CC2 21/22-ish storeys? Based on that, I don't forsee much higher if 24 storeys is the plan for Tower 4.

Re: U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread
Is that central, tallest tower in the render the big iconic 'grand finale' wowee tower we've been waiting for?

Well, yes, that's what we originally thought, and that would indeed be the most favourable spot for residential, but aren't we now informed that T7 is earmarked for Adelaide Bank?AtD wrote:That's tower 7SRW wrote:Whatever happened to the residential/hotel component of this project? Found something on the mysterious tower 4 here:
http://www.knightfrank.com.au/content/u ... sdev10.pdf
It says that Tower 4 (141 King William St) is going to be 30,000 sqm. Because 51 Pirie St is 31,000 sqm and 98m, the evidence is that it may be under 100m
