Hard to say - I would be guessing they might be leaving the roof off directly above the trains until electrification, otherwise the jumbos will blacken them

The trains themselves will be sufficiently waterproof to not require a roof even after electrification. The point is the canopy doesn't extend all the way along the platform. I'm guessing it's just ready for use, but it might have something to do with the current lack of platform length trains.

The point was actually that there are purlins following the arch right across the track, but the canopy does not. Why bother with the purlins? I'm sure the arches are not going to flex without them. However, the fact also remains that the canopy does not cover the whole length of the platform.

Great shots Muzza. I thought the Noarlunga line was supposed to be blue and the Gawler line was orange.

^^ judging by some of our newer stations, Gawler is Red, Noarlunga is Orange, Outer Harbor is Blue and Belair is Green or Grey.

Hallet cove's upgrade looks very bare and unfinished, a big improvement to what it replaced tho. Lets hope Hallet Cove Beach doesnt end up taking 10 months to build

I had a quick look at Hallett Cove station today and I'm unimpressed. For a start it's less accessible from the street than it used to be!

The roof is good, but I can't imagine many passengers thinking it was worth the extended closure.

There was someone still working on installing something, but I'm not sure what. Certainly not the roof, but I think it's more likely than not that they'll wait for longer trains before lengthening the roof.

Brings back memories! There used to be lots of 5s and the occasional 6.

They mix as well there as they do anywhere!

The line is nearly all unroofed.

If the grey bit is the roof, it looks like it will go from one side to the other (over the tracks), but not from end to end.
