Has anyone here noticed a drop in the amount of traffic on Main North Road over the past few days?

I drove the entire length of the NEXY yesterday and all I can say is that its Maaaaagic!!!!!
Finally Adelaide has a road/freeway we can be truely proud of! Oh and I recomend you do the drive at night. The blue LED lights that light up the sweeping bends look awesome and even better is how they've used yellowish coloured LED lights to light up the underside of the bridges! From a distance as you approach them they look awesome!

Just a quick observation from Gawler to Elizabeth, I didnt notice any Semi Trailers at all on Main North Road. In saying that there were a lot driving up and down Port Wakefield Road. I have a feeling this is going to be a nightmare now, particularly in peak hour. The NEXY really needs the proposed Northern Connector for it to truely reveal its potential in cutting down the travel times and taking the heavy vehicle traffic off the main suburban roads. I can't wait for that though!!

.
Yes, for the Northern Connector!

Between 60 and 25km/h depending on what and where their working. Hopefully it should be finished soon enough as the weather starts to clear up.

Any clues?
These signs say when reversed
M20 CLOSED
PLEASE USE
NEXT EXIT
One thing that i would like to see now is a better connection into Gawler, Two Wells Rd won't be able to cope with all of the Gawler traffice for very long. I read something not that long ago that suggested a 2nd Gawler Bypass (that would bypass Gawler to the east), so if this does go ahead, i would think it would be perfect to connect to the expressway (maybe just after the Angle Vale intersection?)

But the what happened to the back end of it?
It's continued around the corner, have a look at the previous page's pictures for another angle that shows the whole thing.
Ha, it was Muzzamos last photo wasnt it?
Calling the bridges after ol' GMH models such as Monaro, Torana, Statesman bridges etc IMO would be better than naming them after old diggers. We are truly over commercialising these great war heros.

Thank you mate. It will be excellent though when its finally done, I reckon I wont offically use it until the whole stretch is 100% finished. I was pissed off with the Anzac Hwy underpass still dragging on for many months after it was opened. I know this analogy is different but when you build someone a house, you dont give them the keys and still come around for months afterwards laying pavers and finish plastering it do you?

For large construction projects, it makes perfect sense. And from an economics standpoint it makes sense too - the public may as well start to get an economic benefit from the project as soon as practical. All of those journeys with 20 minutes saved has a real economic benefit for our state.

As a frequent traveller to the Barossa, I'm been really looking forward to this road opening. I'll get to try it out for the first time on the weekend. I'll be very interested to see how much time/petrol it saves. Missing out on all those start stops at the traffic lights on Main North Road and the traffic.

one of my friends who does tanunda - adelaide every day for work had a trip into town of 47 minutes today
as opposed to around 1 hour 15 minutes
admittedly, he leaves tanunda around 6:30am, so he misses morning peak hour, still thought it was very impressive
