[U/C] Burnside Village (Extension)
[U/C] Re: #U/C: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $100 million
I wonder if this will result in the centre actually matching its elite reputation for once. Of all the times I've been there over the years, I've not once thought 'well, this is obviously nicer/of a higher quality/sells things I can't find anywhere else/looks better than other comparable shopping centres/strips.

Remember how David Jones was looking to set up in Norwood a few years ago? Latest rumours are that they'll open up here.

Definetely not happening as part of this development. No new SA stores currently planned up until 2013.Splashmo wrote:Remember how David Jones was looking to set up in Norwood a few years ago? Latest rumours are that they'll open up here.

I've seen a list of the new tenants.
And yes, I am going to be a prick and not tell you.
But let's put it this way, all you label whores on here are going to shit yourselves.

Al i can say is there will be a lot of first time retailers for Adelaide.
[U/C] Re: #U/C: Burnside Village Redevelopment - $100 million
Let me guess - if the label queens are going to 'shit themselves', so to quote - and they're first-time retailers establishing themselves in the wealthy, affluent eastern suburbs, I wouldn't be surprised if it were Prada, Gucci, Versace, Armani, god knows who else...
Why else would you dangle the fashion string in front of the label kittens?
Reowr.

How about a Haighs?
Come on!
(Thou obviously it would detract from current city store sales)

There is already two suburban stores (Glenelg and Golden Grove), so doubt a store would affect the city
Strange there is a store way out in the north eastern suburbs, but none in the wealthy eastern suburbs

I wouldn't sell the management of Burnside Shopping Centre short. They know their location and market very well, and have been very successful for years on a fairly tight site requiring some clever forward planning.
The cool, semi-underground carpark and escalator to the mall above is brilliant for the type of shopper who likes to stay out of the weather from home to 4WD to shops and back again. The tenant mix is good and the image of the place is well-maintained. It will be interesting to see how that tree goes.
(I shop at Woolies at Regency Plaza myself. Very quiet and good specials bins!)
