It really looks like they're preparing to leave.
It would be better if the pet store & ToyWorld relocated to the Myer Centre.
Baytram366 should take some more pics before, during and after demolition asap!

Question, has anyone actually rung up and asked them when they're planning to close down and relocate?

I have spoken with Axel (Axel Beers). He is as much in the dark as everybody else. He has not been given a deadline on when to move out, so that would indicate that no prime tenant has been secured for the office component. There was some suggestion that Bendigo Bank are/were sniffing around, but they are also being actively sought for the next CC tower.

They did.
And the Toucan pet shop consolidated into their other tenancy in the mall IIRC.

Occasionally we get it right in the end but we sure like to take our sweet time about it!
If you recall there was a delay due to arrangements regarding the use of the U-Park as the building's only service access. Someone out there in "risk management land" probably decided it wasn't appropriate for the ACC or any third party future owner of the car park to have the ability to restrict access or charge exorbitant rents. I don't remember hearing how it was concluded.

I'm not quite sure exactly where "risk management land" is, but would I be right in thinking that it's very close to Bank World (you know, the place where Barbara lives)?

I was in Axel Beers a few days ago. They will be closing for good within 3-4 weeks (according to the shop attendant). They are selling Doc Martens for $50! bargain but unfortunately none in my size

It seem odd that Axel Beers are shutting down just before the mad Christmas rush.

:'( could people stop bumping this about "supposed" closing down sales. I get all excited when I click on it, then severely crushed to the point of tears.

Been off-air for a little but may have some news on potential big name anchors for the development. I've been told to look out for floor plans with a big column-free space on or near the Rundle Mall frontage. If anyone has access to any, can you post it and I can confirm the name.
