Adelaide's Bar/Pub Scene
Adelaide's Bar/Pub Scene
Just to differentiate from the "club" scene, i thought i'd make a bar/pub scene for us folk that dont like the loud/dark atmosphere's of clubs.
Heading to Adelaide in November, and prefer the bar/pub scene where the crowds are generally mature and are able to engage socially.
What are the latest "hotspots" around town.
Last time i was in town the BAth hotel on a friday night was great...
Old Lion on sunday is obviously and old favourite...
But what else is going on???
Always keen on checking good pubs out in Adelaide...always have a great time!

IMO, nothing better than The Ed Beer Garden on a warm afternoon/evening.
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Check out the Gallery on Waymouth Street, has 3 bars including a cool rooftop area

Loving the cavern club right now. It's underground on North Terrace across the road from the railway station and when punk and metal shows play, the road vibrates
Don't burn the Adelaide Parkland (preservation society)

The Wheatsheaf is the best pub in the country. Go there and try their fantastic range of beer, scotch and wine, and chat with Jade, who knows everything about everything they sell.

a couple of people seem to like sipping cocktails on the balcony of the Richmond. Quite a sophisticated bar that one

What a novel idea!jk1237 wrote:a couple of people seem to like sipping cocktails on the balcony of the Richmond. Quite a sophisticated bar that one

There's nothing like having a gay old time sipping cocktails out of phallic shaped glasses and queer coloured umbrellas.
Re: Adelaide's Bar/Pub Scene
Ever been to The Gallery on Waymouth? I dropped in for a drink while waiting for a friend a few afternoons ago. It was mid-afternoon and mid-week so no people inside, just a few on the rooftop. I imagine it gets quite busy from 5pm onwards.
A relaxing ambiance and interesting use of art & textures through the place. My glass of white wine (Adelaide Hills) tasted nice too!Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
