Tram patronage has gone up significantly since the new trams where introduced and once the line is extended it will no doubt go up even more. I would like to see the frequency of the Glenelg Line increased to a tram every 10 minutes.
The 99b bus does not provide an adequate service, it is regularly very full, and it takes a while for people to get on an off. Trams will much better cope with the numbers of people travelling the route, plus Glenelg commuters will no longer have to change to the bus.
The opposition by the minority, led by the Liberals and the Advertiser is getting tiresome, $31 million is a very small cost compared to what other states spend on their infrastructure.

After all this time, I have yet to read or hear an intelligent arguement against the tram extension.
All the comments against the tram extension are either ignorant lies or hysterical rubbish.
However let us all rejoice! for construction has begun!

The Advertiser has hopefully accepted defeat. However yesterday there was a mention of Adelaide's 'embattled' tram system in the Sunday Mail.

This just in, Courtesy of Will...
Results from the Public Consultation on the Tram Line extension.

Looks like city goers also overwhelmingly support the extension and also the possibility of it's extension into north adelaide/port adelaide.

That's all well and good but are the buses going to be running still as well?
Just FYI, another benefit of the tramline is that hopefully we'll be better serviced than the beeline.

Anyone just watch the seven news report on the tramline extension?
Was it just me, or did the reporter seem happy as hell

Yes it is true. I went down to North Terrace tonight, and 2 lanes of traffic had been blocked due to construction works.

I'd like to see the 'Tiser complain about the disruption, considering the other end of North Tce has been reduced to 8 lanes for quite some time now.
