[COM] SAHMRI | $200m
[COM] Re: #U/C - Health and Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - $2
Love the design! You'd definitely would think that for $200m on a 25,000sqm buildong, it'd look good, and I'm glad it does.

How many cranes are we likely to see on this ?
[COM] Re: #U/C - Health and Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - $2

My guess is one big hammerhead. I'd say there'd be some challenges with luffing cranes here, due to airspace regulations.
I remember when Embassy and Horizon were built, they were forced to use hammerhead cranes for that exact reason.

Some pics from Wednesday - no action on site since Professor's pics, but quite a bit of railcar activity behind:

Well there you go, the base must have been below grade because I could not see it on the train this morning!
[COM] Re: #U/C - Health and Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - $2
There was a segment on Channel 10 news tonight mentioning that this is the biggest crane in Australia at the moment?? Maybe they mean as in length?
[COM] Re: #U/C - Health and Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - $2
I would not be surprised. The lifting gear on this thing is massive. I'd be very interested to see what it's capacity is.

The crane is a Jaso / Titan Cranes (http://titancranes.com.au/index-1.html) - not sure which model, & lifting jib may not be as long as the
Burnside Village crane(?), but certainly dominates North Terrace in height & reach. From Sunday:
