In the meantime, this one might be easier - apparently the clock was obscured behind signage until recently, and doesn't appear to work

Thanks, I will have a closer look. I think the clock building would be more 1920 or 30, and not in the Uni. Closer to the GPO.

Is it a 2 level building on Bentham Street, almost opposite the former Spire site?

Actually I take my guess back. It's nothing like what I was thinking of. Will's onto it for sure.

when was that built? looks quite deco in my opinion, so 1935-ish?
