I would say they want to get this one moving so they are demolising with the previous approval as the amended design hasn't been approved yet and they are ready to go as soon as it gets the green light.

Maybe Paul can add some more on this? i don;t think we have seen renders yet if the downsized version is going ahead..

The new reduced 8 level proposal will come before the ACC DAP this upcomng Monday night, whereby the proposal is expected to receive planning approval.

The new 8 level proposal will be 31m tall.

The design has not changed, it is just stumpier.

The project is being downsized to a 7 level building so that it can proceed immediately rather than wait for further lease commitments. The revised DA is currently with Planning SA for consideration and hopefully approval withing the next 4 weeks. In the meantime we are keen to start work, so we have lodged a demolition application against the 13 level approval. At this stage, and subject to final approvals, you should see some action on site maybe next week. Tagara have been appointed as builder.

Whilst I am a little disappointed about the reduction in height, I still think the design looks good. It is probably better suited to a low-rise building and is exactly the kind of edgy architecture thats needed in the City. It will be a welcome addition to the area.

Height/density wise, will provide some sort of consistency being adjacent the Credit Union Building, and mix well with the TAFE Arts / Common Ground developments in the surrounding area.

Light Square -demolition is underway, and the building will be gone by the end of this weekend. Tagara will be making an immediate start on the construction.

Last time I went past this site earlier this week demolition was well underway. So as mentioned previously construction is about to commence:
