Can't wait for this one to start. It will really change Franklin Street for the better and help cover the Telstra Exchange when viewed from the SW.
The fact that it doesn't require pre commitment like 400 King William Street and Coglin Street is obviously allowing it to proceed on schedule.
Although this application is not for the structure itself hopefully that application will follow soon. The steel frame construction should also make it quick to rise.

Looks like the car park has opened today.
$13 for early bird parking, if you're in before 9:00 and out before 7:00.
For comparison, the Bus Terminal Car Park is $10.50 for early bird, if you're in before 8:30.

Fencing has gone up around the old Just Kidding building and there is no more parking going on inside (probably all in the new car park now).

I thought this was to be a 3 stage project as in 1. carpark, 2 Apartments, 3 Office. Good to hear the later too are being combined. Exactly when they said they would start as well. Financing the majority of the development cost by themselves obviously helps.
Their method is working too. Although 400 KW is not yet full another lease has recently been signed with Hunt and Hunt lawyers and I think Workcover are moving there later this year as well.
Kyren's projects provide new office accommodation for companies occupying under 2,000 square metres and can't pre commit to the larger developments around the city.

WorkCover moving to 400 KWS in May 2012.

Article in todays paper about this development. it is commencing as 400 KW street in now fully leased. Expected completion is March 2013. The article says Ahrens are the builders but I don't know if that is true as they are building the adjacent carpark and the Advertiser most likely assumed it was all the one site? time will tell.
