Pretty sure there's a factory-style building there right now.

Right now are a few abandoned old offices..

My dad's office is the building next to the proposed development, and he had a laugh when his car was in the second render!

Could work well considering accross the road is a multitude of developments which where finished a couple of years ago.

Nothing amazing, but fits in with the style of all the townhouses across the road. I can see a few people kicking up a stink though, with some of the apartments having a view over the primary school (which is next door, with the picket fence)

Yep, what's there now is a very underwhelming single story building that looks about as anonymous as it gets... I noticed the development render on the front of the site yesterday riding past. The only thing that surprised me was how deep the block looks from the render, although it's probably partly a visual outcome related to the relatively narrow frontage.

I can definitely see some people complaining, even though this represents the 'Paris style' development (heightwise at least) so many claim Adelaide should be restricted to.

Better Paris-style, than nothing.

Having the city fill up with buildings of medium density 5-10 levels will really benefit us in the long term. It's good to have the occasional height-challenger here and there, like the recently approved 100m Pilgrim Centre - but as long as the focus is on improving density and population in the CBD first and foremost.

A yellow tower crane has been erected at the development site of the (I'm assuming) 7 level South Terrace apartment complex.

8 cranes total for the CBD now.

I think the Gilles Street development is already approved? I seem to recall something about it having gone to court after council refused it for some of the same reasons mentioned above -- that it overlooks the primary school. Or I am just imagining things.

I'm not buying into that Gilles St. development until they fix. All those. Unfinished sentences and.
dubious punctuation's.
